The downtown Shreveport Riverfront neighborhood is bounded by Caddo St. on the north, Common Street on the west, Interstate 20 to the south and the Red River to the east. Although typically considered home to towering commercial buildings mixed with entertainment and other business ventures, the Downtown Riverfront neighborhood also encompasses thriving residential communities comprised of downtown Shreveport apartments and condominiums. Here, residents and visitors can stroll through winding paths lined with tropical and exotic plants including palms and native flowering plants, such as azaleas and red bud trees.

 

Downtown Shreveport is also home to the Shreveport Downtown Airport http://www.flyshreveport.com/ Also known as Downtown Municipal Airport, this facility is a general aviation airport located adjacent to the Red River. As Shreveport’s original commercial airport, the Downtown Municipal Airport dates back to 1931. Today, the Downtown Airport features 2 runways, with the primary runway constructed of asphalt and measuring over 5000 feet long.
